Dalliance in the dahlias: Fire walk with me.

So many lovely red blooms.  It was hard to pick my favourites, but here are a few.

Dalliance in the dahlias: Bees! Glorious Bees!

I took the kids and a packed lunch to Swan Island Dahlias the other day.  If you haven't been there yet, you really should go.  Worth the drive!  There are so many different varieties of Dahlias, you will not get bored.  It's also nice that they don't charge an entry fee.

This is going to take a few days, because I could not stop taking photos of things.  Today, I'll feature bees!  They were all over the place, and so cute!

Except the little fish Bumped into me I swear he was trying to talk to me coy koi...

A few really beautiful fish in this pond.  We were at the Dahlia gardens yesterday, and near the entrance to the gift shop, there was this pretty, and DEEP Koi pond.  They were very responsive to us, too.

Farm stuff.

Here are the last of the pictures from our trip to the farm, this past weekend.  Just a few of the outbuildings, and grounds.  It was such a nice day, and somehow I managed to take about 600 photos in less than an hour, because that's how I roll...

I've taken lots of pictures of this windmill, but not from this perspective, before.

Old barn.

Really old, weathered locust bark.

Pig Pen.

Enormous Chicken Coop.

Old Smokehouse.

Post-harvest field.

Impromptu photos, as we were saying goodbye.

I actually still have one more day of photos after this post from this trip, but the girls are right here with me, and wanted me to post these ones.  I didn't get everyone into these shots, because it was just sort of an impromptu goof-off session.  Kind of regretting that now, because it was such a nice day.  Apologies!

Here are some of the people who were there at that time, though.  Finally got to meet another cousin, whom I had been facebook friends with for a while, but hadn't met in person.  That was fun!
